Agates

Agate is a variety of chalcedony, part of the quartz family. It is characterised by its fine-grained, layered structure, often in banded forms. Agate's bands display a range of colours due to various impurities. It forms primarily in volcanic rocks as nodules or within cavities. Significant sources include Brazil, Uruguay, Australia, India, and the United States.
