What Is the Overarching Theme or Energy Style of Amber?
The overarching theme of amber is healing, cleansing, and vitality. Known as the "Stone of Ancient Energy," amber resonates with the solar plexus and sacral chakras, promoting physical healing, emotional cleansing, and vitality. Its warming, nurturing energy encourages the release of negative emotions, while its ancient connection to life forces and the Earth makes it a powerful ally for grounding and spiritual regeneration. Amber supports the clearing of emotional blockages, enhancing overall well-being and helping you feel revitalised.
How Can Amber Help You?
Amber can help by promoting healing, vitality, and emotional clarity. Its warm, nurturing energy supports physical healing by boosting the body’s natural healing processes, making it ideal for those recovering from illness or seeking general well-being. Amber’s cleansing properties clear away stagnant or negative emotional energy, allowing for emotional clarity and a greater sense of peace. It also enhances vitality, providing a boost of life force energy that can help you feel more energised and confident. Amber is particularly useful for grounding, offering stability and security during times of emotional upheaval.
Something to Note...
At Self & Others, we believe that the true power of crystals comes from your personal connection with them.
Rather than relying on lengthy descriptions of what a crystal can do, we encourage you to use your intuition when selecting which crystal you need. Very often the elaborate descriptions will likely leave you feeling more overwhelmed and confused than clarified!
By tuning into your intuition, you'll discover how the crystal can uniquely support you in your journey. Trust the process, listen to the energy it offers, and let it reveal its purpose to you — because the best healing comes from within.
If you need help on how to select crystals, you can follow our “How to Choose Crystals Guide”.
What Is Amber?
- Chemical Composition : Amber is an organic material, formed from fossilised tree resin, primarily from ancient coniferous trees. Its chemical composition varies, but it typically contains a mixture of hydrocarbons and can have small amounts of succinic acid.
- Origin : Amber is found in several locations worldwide, including the Baltic region (notably Lithuania and Poland), the Dominican Republic, and Myanmar. Baltic amber is especially prized for its high succinic acid content.
- Crystal System and Habits : Amber is amorphous, meaning it lacks a crystalline structure. It forms as nodules or irregular masses and is often found in rounded shapes, sometimes containing ancient plant matter or trapped insects.
- Crystal Family or Group : Amber is part of the organic gemstone family , along with other materials like jet and pearl.
- Hardness and Durability : Amber has a hardness of 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale, making it relatively soft and prone to scratches. It is lightweight and can easily be damaged by heat or chemicals.
- Colour : Amber ranges from golden yellow to orange-brown and can also appear in shades of red, green, blue, and black. It often has a warm, glowing appearance and may contain visible inclusions.
Methods for Cleansing and Charging Amber
- Water : Avoid prolonged exposure to water, as amber is porous and can be damaged. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is acceptable, but dry cleansing methods are preferred.
- Moonlight : Place amber under the light of the full moon to cleanse and recharge its energy. The moonlight enhances its emotional cleansing and healing properties.
- Sunlight : Brief exposure to sunlight can recharge amber’s energy, but avoid prolonged exposure, as heat can cause amber to become brittle or darken over time.
- Selenite : Use a selenite plate to cleanse and charge amber by placing it on the plate for several hours. This method helps maintain its healing and energising properties.
- Visualisation : Hold amber in your hands and visualise a warm, golden light flowing through it, clearing away stagnant energy and amplifying its healing and revitalising properties.
- Sound : Cleanse amber using sound vibrations from a singing bowl or tuning fork. Let the sound waves pass through the stone to refresh its energy.
- Smoke Cleansing : Pass amber through the smoke of sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs to purify its energy and restore its grounding and healing vibrations.
- Storage and Protection : Store amber in a soft pouch to prevent scratches and protect it from exposure to heat, chemicals, or direct sunlight.
How to Use Amber
- Meditation and Spiritual Work : Use amber during meditation by placing it near your solar plexus or sacral chakra to enhance vitality, healing, and grounding. Its energy helps clear emotional blockages and energise your spiritual practice.
- Jewellery and Accessories : Wearing amber as jewellery helps carry its healing and energising energy throughout the day, promoting well-being, confidence, and emotional clarity.
- Home and Office : Place amber in your home or workspace to create a warm, healing atmosphere. Its energy promotes grounding, vitality, and emotional balance, making it ideal for relaxation spaces.
- Crystal Grids : Use amber in crystal grids designed for healing, vitality, or grounding. Pair it with stones like carnelian or citrine to enhance its sacral chakra and energising properties.
- Elixir or Infused Water : Always use the indirect method when making an amber-infused elixir, as it is porous and should not come into direct contact with water.
